In my quest to find quality programming for children and rid the world of children's shows that are creepy I have found a new culprit. This is a clip from the show 'Yo Gabba Gabba' It is just down right weird. I am also upset with them because they used my likeness on the show without compensation (check out the host). I hope you don't lose too many brain cells by watching the clip.

I will be back to posting my random thoughts next week. I have had some unexpected events in my life lately that have kept my schedule quite full.

Poor Leroy Greer

This morning I watched the Today Show and they did a segment on Leroy Greer. This poor man was going through a divorce and decided to secretly send flowers to a female friend of his. The mean people at 1-800-FLOWERS sent a card accidentally to his wife thanking him for his purchase. His nosey wife knew that the flowers were not sent to her and had the audacity to call the flower company to get a reciept for the transaction. Due to the pending divorce his soon to be ex-wife increased the amount of money that she wanted from the divorce. I am not sure why he is getting treated this way. The poor man was only trying to secretly cheat on his wife. Have we lost those rights in America? What has happened to our society? Why can't a man of integrity break his marriage vows in peace?

Leroy is in the process of suing the flower company due to a breach of privacy. They should know better. I hope this teaches them and everyone out there to let people have their privacy because it only makes matter worse.

Bible Quiz Doping Probe Widens

LENEXA — Eleven-year-old Todd Bradley was a Bible Quiz wunderkind, leading his church's team to the finals three years in a row and winning the championship in 2004. But in February, urine tests revealed that Bradley and three other team members had been taking "quiz cocktails" — performance-enhancing drugs which improve memory and fact retention. They were stripped of their title and banned from competition.

"Bible Quiz has lost its innocence," says observer James Delaney of the Houston Chronicle. "Doping is rampant. It's a new game." The latest bomb was thrown by former Bible Quiz champ Danny Andrews, whose best-selling book Happy Hour refers to the pre-competition moments when quizzers "gathered in bathroom stalls and gulped quiz cocktails and espressos," he says. "When I began competing, nobody was doping," he says. "We'd maybe drink a Jolt cola before matches. Now it's a science. By the time the match starts, kids are so hopped up they could quote the book of Ezekiel verbatim."

In the '90s, as churches poured money and prestige on winners, kids began mixing memory-enhancing drinks which evolved into complex cocktails containing ephedra, ginseng and caffeine. Quizzers topped them off with 2-3 Red Bulls.

Now beleaguered Bible Quiz contests across the country have instituted strict "anytime, anywhere" testing policies. Quizzer Samantha Roberts was at a La Quinta Inn before a match in February when two female Bible Quiz testers knocked on her hotel room door, ushered her to the bathroom and watched as she urinated into a sample cup. Her parents stood in the hallway, perplexed. But the new scrutiny doesn't bother Samantha.
"It's part of competing," she says. "They weed out the cheaters." The next day, Samantha's team won a regional match against rival First Baptist Church of Lexington, whose team was gutted last year after players tested positive for banned substances.

I just read an article on Yahoo that says the new look for guys this season are leggings. This picture shows you how hot you can look with leggings on. Now I must admit that I do try to keep up with current trends especially when it comes to electronics. I am pretty confident in saying that I will stick with my khakis and leave the leggings to the cool people.

Are We That Stupid?

I was watching an episode of ER last night that really got under my skin. This episode is from this season from about two weeks ago. The ER got several new medical students who are doing their rounds. One of the new med students is a blonde girl who apparently has a faith in Christ. In several scenes she was shown saying the Lord's Prayer, quoting Psalm 23, and praying for different patients. These were all positive things, however, they scripted the character to be incompetent and unskilled in her profession. It was quite obvious to me that this show was trying to send a message that Christians are not normal and do not fit in. This is not the first time I have seen this depiction. Many shows on television have bought into this. Pay attention the next time you watch a crime drama. The overly zealous Christian is the one who went crazy and started a murdering spree.
I believe my biggest problem about all of this is that it is okay for the media and any other group to say whatever they want about Christians and Christianity, but if a Christian shares their opinion on a controversial topic then we are being judgmental. John 16:33 reminds us that we are going to have trouble and persecution in this world. I pray that we can continue to be reminded of this and attempt to ignore the bashing of God's people.
